We support people with disability every day, so a website that is hard to use would be a strange way to introduce ourselves. We want this site to work for you, whatever your abilities and however you choose to browse.

What we work toward

Our aim is for this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, the standard recommended in Australia and the benchmark that supports our responsibilities under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992.

We also know accessibility is never finished. Websites change, standards improve, and real people always find things testers miss. So we treat this as ongoing work, not a box that gets ticked once.

 

What we do on this site

To make this website easier to use, we work to:

  • Write in plain language, so information makes sense the first time you read it.
  • Structure pages with proper headings, so they are easy to move through, including with a screen reader.
  • Add text descriptions to images, so they still make sense if you cannot see them.
  • Make the site usable with a keyboard, not just a mouse or touch.
  • Use colours and text sizes that are easier to read, with good contrast.
  • Let you enlarge text with your browser’s zoom without breaking the page.
  • Make the site work well on phones, tablets and computers.

 

Getting information another way

If this website is not the easiest way for you to get what you need, that is completely fine. We are happy to share information:
