Support in Logan

NDIS supports available in Logan

Most of our work happens where your day already happens: a shower and breakfast before work, an actual shop at Grand Plaza, an appointment at Logan Hospital, or an afternoon out that has nothing to do with appointments at all. These are the supports people in Logan ask about most.

Local to Logan

What being based in Logan changes

Logan is big, spread out and built around cars. Where a provider works from quietly decides a lot: how long the drive is, how easily a shift can be moved, and whether the same person keeps coming back.

Shorter drives, steadier support

Being based in Hillcrest puts us inside Logan rather than looking at it from the Brisbane side. Shorter distances make it easier to keep one worker on the same run week after week, and easier to shift a time when something comes up.

Support where your life already is

Most support happens at your place and around your suburb: your kitchen, your street, the Hyperdome, a GP in Springwood, the bus you catch every Thursday. Nothing has to be a trip across town.

You will not have to explain where you live

Ring us and you are talking to people who already know where Marsden is. They know what the Logan Motorway is like at half past three, and why a run out to Beenleigh is a different proposition to one over to Browns Plains.

Who you will see

The people who turn up

Support is not really a service. It is a person at your door on a Tuesday morning, so who that person turns out to be matters more than anything else on this page.

How we match

We start with the practical things: the support you need, the hours, whether a man or a woman suits you better, language, and anything about the house we should know. Then we look at whether the two of you would actually get on, because you are letting this person into your morning. You can meet a worker before the first shift, and ten minutes usually tells you more than any amount of reading.

How workers are prepared

Every support worker holds an NDIS Worker Screening clearance, which registered providers are required to check. For high intensity supports the preparation is participant-specific rather than general, because enteral feeding support and tracheostomy support are learned for one person at a time. That is the whole point of it. The person who comes to you is prepared for you.

Keeping the same face

We aim to keep the same worker with you rather than sending whoever happens to be free. It saves you explaining your routine over and over, and it is usually the difference between support that works and support you put up with. Rosters do move sometimes. When they do, we will talk to you about it first.

What to send

What comes back

For referrers

For support coordinators and referrers in Logan

Send the participant’s suburb, the support type and the plan status, and we will come back to you on capability and availability. You will get a straight answer on that suburb rather than a maybe that costs you a week.

GETTING STARTED

How to get started in Logan

You do not need goals written down, a support coordinator, or the right words for any of it. A suburb and a rough idea of the week is enough to start with.

Tell us your suburb

Ring 1300 544 958 or send an enquiry with where you are, what you are after and roughly when you need it.

Talk it through

We go through how your week runs, what is in your plan and who on our team might suit you. It usually takes one phone call.

Meet, start, adjust

You can meet a worker before the first shift. Days, times and people can change once you are going, and nobody is locked into anything.

Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm. If we miss you, we will ring back.

Questions

Questions people in Logan ask us

The questions participants, families and support coordinators ask us most.

Do you cover my suburb, and do you have availability?

Usually, though it comes down to three things: your suburb, the days and times you want, and finding somebody who suits you. Tell us those three and you will get a real answer instead of a maybe. If we cannot cover it, we will say so quickly, so you can keep looking rather than keep waiting.

That is what we aim for, and we know it is the part most people care about. We match you with somebody and then try to keep them with you, so you are not starting from scratch with a stranger every other week.

Yes, and you are not locked in with anyone. Check the notice period in your current service agreement, tell your support coordinator if you have one, and we will handle things at our end so the gap is as small as we can make it.

No. Plenty of people ring us themselves. If you do have a coordinator or a recovery coach we are glad to work with them and keep them across things, but you do not need one to get started.

No. We work with NDIA managed, plan managed and self managed funding, and because we are registered, NDIA managed plans can use us too. Every plan is different, so nothing here is a promise about your funding. Check with your support coordinator or plan manager, or call us on 1300 544 958 and we will help you make sense of it.

Yes, and often that is who rings first. A parent, a partner, a sister, a nominee or a guardian can all start the conversation. We will still talk with the person the support is for, because it is their plan and their choice.

Still have a question?
Call our local team on 1300 544 958. We will answer it plainly, even if the answer is that we are not the right fit.

Next step

Start with a simple conversation

Tell us your suburb and how a week usually goes at your place. By the end of the call you will know what we can cover in Logan, who might suit you and roughly where things stand. If something else would suit you better, we will say so.
